Somers Town Screening and Full Set by Gavin Clark

An evening celebrating the working partnership of Gavin Clark, singer-songwriter and Shane Meadows, the acclaimed English film director.
Having been featured on all bar one of Shane’s films, Gavin’s debut solo concert will include songs spanning from the cult band Sunhouse, formed for Shane’s first feature “Twenty Four Seven”, through the critically acclaimed Clayhill, “This is England”, to the full soundtrack of Shane’s latest release “Somers Town”. There will also be new material from his solo album due to be released in 2009 and Clayhills’ latest recordings. The band will comprise of fellow Clayhill members Ted Barnes (guitar) and Ali Friend (double bass) as well as Nic Hemming (Banjo) from the ‘Leasure Society’, Tim Pearce (drums) from Ted’s solo band and Sarah Willson (cello). As well as the showing of “Somers Town” earlier in the evening the performance will also be captured on film by Shane for a documentary he has been making on Gavin’s work over the last two years. Guitarist Ted Barnes worked with Beth Orton on both her 'Trailer Park' and 'Central Reservation' albums. He released his first solo album, 'Short Scenes' in 2002 on Narwhal Records to much praise. He continued to work with Beth on her 'Daybreaker' album, and toured extensively. In 2003 Ted Barnes and Gavin Clark formed Clayhill together with Red Snapper double bass player, Ali Friend and went on to release three albums. In 2005 Ted released his instrumental album “Underbelly” on Sketchbook Records. Recently, Ted has produced Gavin Clark's album “When We Had Faces
