Somers Town

Somers Town

Gavin Clark and Ted Barnes' soundtrack to the award-winning film Somers Town by Shane Meadows is the latest collaboration between these acclaimed leaders in their fields. Clark and Barnes' soundtrack charts the film's journey of this heart warming tale of life-changing friendships found in the most unlikely of places. Somers Town was an idea born out of the regeneration of the area around Kings Cross and St Pancras in central London and centre's around two teenage boys, adrift in an adult world who develop a mutual trust and acceptance through an unlikely friendship.

The soundtrack is simply a perfect match with a playlist of tender acoustic songs that are tailor-made for the narrative.  Thomas Turgoose plays a troubled young lad who runs away to London and meets a shy Polish teenager who shares a small flat with his labourer father in a rundown area.

Director Shane Meadows previously directed Turgoose in the acclaimed BAFTA winning ‘This Is England' where Gavin Clark once again provided music. Gavin Clarke was previously part of the band ‘Sunhouse' he produced music on the soundtrack ‘TwentyFourSeven' and has most recently supplied music for the end credits of ‘X Files: I Want to Believe' film.
